When your trying to sell your home you want to remove personal photos for two reasons:

1) It helps to de-personalize the home and let buyers envision themselves there.
2) Avoids distracting buyers.

When buyers visit homes, they can easily be distracted by photos, they maybe more interested in the sellers or in the collections of things the seller has, rather than on the positive features of the home. You want potential buyers to notice and remember the home, not the collections or people who live there. The way you live in a home and the way you sell a home and two completely different things, so remember to feature good life photos, which capture the fun moments in life and things buyers can do in your area. For example, if you live by the beach have photos from a beach day or if you live in the mountains have pictures of hiking trips, skiing the leaves changing colors.
